The Adastra Foundation initiated its Mentoring Programme in October 2008. The programme is to support and encourage our scholarship recipients to manage their own learning in order that they may maximise their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be. The Adastra Foundation realises that it is an effective way of helping people to progress in their careers.
Mentoring Workshop 15 July 2011
On Friday 15 July 2011 we had another Adastra Mentoring Session. To this session we also invited 4 WILS (Waikato Institute for Leisure & Sport Studies) participants who are part of the Waikato Academy for Young Achievers programme. Altogether we had 17 young people at our session.

Ronny Phillips
We once again asked Ronny Phillips to do a workshop on Communication and the Media. This included basic speaking skills, how to handle the media as well as tips on Social Media.

Karen Ross
For the first time we had Karen Ross as part of our Mentoring Programme. She is a transformational coach, experienced trainer and facilitator of change. She focuses on enabling already successful people to be even better. Karen embraces cultural and individual differences and relishes working with people from all walks of life. She has coached and trained people from numerous countries, spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Japan and the Caribbean.

Past Mentoring Workshop November 25th 2010
On Friday November 25th saw another 11 Adastra Foundation recipients gather together for a Mentoring Session. We were back at The Hub at WINTEC's Hamilton CBD campus. Ronny Phillips was once again asked to do a workshop on Media based on his 30 years experience in the radio and media industry. He was invited back as a result of feedback from previous recipients.
Then we did something slightly different. We had a goal setting workshop with Ron McLuckie.
Ron's passion and purpose is helping people be successful and success means achieving the goals that are important to you. He believes that knowing what you really want is the most important ingredient for success and this is what goal-setting and achievement is all about.
